When graphing using slope-intercept form, you must: FIRST make certain that the equation is in the form of y=mx + b. The "m" is your slope and the "b" is where you begin your line on the Y-AXIS!!!! IT IS YOUR Y-INTERCEPT! Once you graph your y-intercept, then use your slope to graph your line. If the slope is POSITIVE, your line should go upward when reading LEFT to RIGHT. If your slope is negative, your line should go DOWN when reading your graph in order of Left to Right. The slope, OR "m" tells you how many to RISE, then RUN! PLOT this point. Then continue again to rise then run until you are OFF the graph. Connect using a straightedge to form your line.
